Apr. 21 -In today's news: German churches exhibit 4/23

From the St. Louis Review today, 4/21/06. I will try to make an appearance to see the collection, since I will be out and about for a time on Sunday.

Professor to show photos of state’s German churches

"John Wickersham first discovered the allure of churches with a German heritage while on a project to photograph the Missouri River basin several years ago.

Wickersham, a member of St. Alban Roe Parish in Wildwood and a philosophy faculty member at Maryville University, went back to photograph many of the German-congregation churches in Missouri between 1992 and 1998.

On Sunday, April 23, at 3:30 p.m., he will offer about 200 original prints of the churches for sale, and will deliver a talk on their architectural, communal and spiritual aspects. The event will be in the University Center at Maryville University, 13550 Conway Road, Town and Country.

For more information about Sunday’s event, call the university’s alumni office, (314) 529-9300."
