Season of sharing - Special Education fund

This is a special series of posts to highlight a number of Catholic endeavors you may have never heard about. If you can, please share your time, talent and treasure with these organizations throughout the holiday season, and during the New Year.

Disclaimer: I have a personal bias on this one. My two siblings were prepared for the Sacraments at a Special Education school of religion at Seven Holy Founders parish. They still attend regularly organized retreats there today. Many, many thanks to Mary Beth Schulte, who has coordinated this wonderful program.

From the St. Louis Review of November 24, 2006: Endowment started to honor work of Msgr. Elmer Behrmann

Today the Department of Special Education includes two schools, numerous learning centers, a high school enrichment program, a residential school, two preschools, a vocational program, a guidance center and Special Religious Education Ministry.

See the link above for more information about the work of the Department of Special Education.

To contribute to the Monsignor Elmer R. Behrmann Scholarship Appeal, send donations to: Department of Special Education, 4472 Lindell Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63108-2495; or access the department’s website, www.special-educationstl.org.
