More on the Ivory injunction

See this page at stltoday.com for today's news.

A note from today's article:

In addition to barring "live performances directed to an adult audience rather than the general public," the special warranty deed signed by Allen, Rothschild and a representative of the St. Louis City Catholic Church Real Estate Corporation restricted the new owners from using the St. Boniface name and spells out other conditions.

Note: I am not a lawyer, but I did find this legal definitions site for more information on types of deeds. Not enough info? Ask your friendly, neighborhood Missouri lawyer to explain.

St. Boniface, as well as other St. Louis area churches, open or closed, exist as corporate entities formed by the Archdiocese. To see the St. Boniface corporate documents, check the Missouri Secretary of State's office.

Will the show go on tonight? Stay tuned as Judge Philip Heagney decides today if the curtain rises.

Ivory theatre opening night...not exactly

The doors were polished, and so was the gleaming wood concession stand that greets you when you walk into the Ivory Theatre formerly St. Boniface Church. However, when I went to purchase a ticket to see the initial performance, Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll, there weren't any available. The show had been shut down around 5:30PM, according to a reporter from the Post-Dispatch as a result of an injunction by the St. Louis Archdiocese. Details should of the exact nature of the shutdown available here.

I had the pleasure of being escorted through the theatre this evening by Mr. Mike Allen who showed me the work that was done and the amenities added, renovated and prepared. It truly has turned out to be an amazing stage venue.

Photos will be available shortly at http://www.stbonifaceonline.com/siteindex.htm.
